This site contains a few applications for learning and practicing Arabic vocabulary, based on a language database that is under continual development. This is primarily a tool for my language practice - I add new words as I learn them - and to teach myself PHP. But I hope it will help others as well.

In addition to Modern Standard Arabic, the written language common in all Arabic-speaking countries, I have also included some words/pronunciations from the colloquial dialects of Egypt, Morocco, and Syria. These sections are very incomplete, however.

If you're unfamiliar with the Arabic script, please see the Alphabet and Pronunciation Guide. You may also Browse the Database by topic and dialect, and test yourself using Flashcards and Mathcards. Also the Ten Measures of the Arabic Verb is here for your assistance. Search and Quiz features may be coming someday.
